Berikyuu! Episode 5: Luck of the DrawThe last show of the first week and all I can think is, “Do I have it in me to keep screencapping this?”

Berikyuu! Episode 4: Strike A PoseurFor this episode, I decided to not give in to weakness and have the episode translated to me, to actually comprehend and get right what they’re doing. What’s the fun in that?

Berikyuu! Episode 3: Is The Bloom Off The Banana Already? The third episode was a bit of a disappointment. After watching it the first time, I had my wife translate it to tell me what was going on, though I had a pretty clear idea. I don’t want to “understand” these three minutes of idol action.

Berikyuu! Episode Two: Grind That Cob, Baby!I’m hoping this won’t be a habit, but watching the second episode of Berikyuu! meant I just had to snark a post about it. This was incredible, this was phenomenal, this opened the gates of heaven for my wota-ness!

The First Episode of Berikyuu!I really don’t have much to say about the very first episode of Berikyuu! except some snark and a general sense of relief at having an H!P show I want to watch.

The H!P Kids Are Alright 11: RayIf you want something truly depressing to think about: celebrating ten years of Hello! Project, there hasn’t been a successful long-term solo artist in the decade of its existence. The ones who once were successful - Ayaya and Gocchin, for starters - have seen sales and popularity plummet. (Ayaya has been smart enough to move on to be an all-purpose geinou.) Those who wished to be more independent and have more control - Ichii Sayaka and Heike Michiyo, for starters - have fared even worse outside of H!P. There has been no Hamasaki Ayumi or Amuro Namie or Seiko Matsuda to emerge from H!P yet.

The H!P Kids Are Alright 10: HenkkaI think neither Berryz Koubou or C-ute will ever rise from the shadow of Morning Musume. Not very easily anyway. Unfortunate for fans of these groups, I know, but I believe this to be the truth.
Ray suggested two things that could perhaps make it possible: having an enormous hit, or moving from H!P to either TNX or NGP. Personally I don’t see the latter working.
